Fran at the Cottage

These four ladies each got there first run at Fran. They all experienced that trip to the dark side however they still came out with great times in the end. It only takes about 10 minutes to regain consciousness after a WOD like this. Great job through each of your Fran's. Your thrusters all looked strong and those jumping, kipping pull-ups are looking very polished. Keep up the great work, Until the next time keep the intensity hiGH.

Left to Right (name, thruster wt, time) All did jumping pull-ups

Hopper Deck INTO the Weekly WOD

Our new Hopper decks have arrived. We do have a few extra decks if you are interested in purchasing one for yourself ($20).

CrossFit Apex will use the hopper deck to program 2 WODS each week. Starting this Saturday we will have 2 people choose a card from our 54 card deck. These 2 cards will be photographed and placed on the website for the week. At some point during that week you will be performing these WOD's. We will not disclose what day of the week it will be. The 2 cards selected each week will be removed from the deck. The last Saturday of each month all previously selected cards will be added back into the deck and become a possible card selection again. Let the Hopper Deck anticipation begin. Starting this Saturday we will chose our first 2 cards for the week of 7-28 - 8-3.

Tanya on the Games Website

Led off with a nice comment from our buddy Sevan!!
The games were filled with kind warm hearted people. And some how Tanya's presence stood out in this crowd of mega people. Carey, Hayley and I all had the same impression after meeting TANYA... "WOW", that chick is fooking cool! If you get a chance, go up and say hi to this amazing HUMAN being. She radiates warmth. I am really looking forward to seeing her again.

Back From the Left Coast

What an experience. Words can't describe the level of competition and the physical and emotional torture that these people fought through. I'm proud to be a CrossFitter. Pictures are posted on the link to the left.

If you haven't seen it already on the main site, check out the video of 14 year old Kallista Pappas finishing up her final WOD. This kid is a warrior.

Day 1 at the CrossFit Games! Tanya Ends Day 1 in 2nd place!!!

What can I say. These two poured their hearts outs on some seriously painful WODs!
The First WOD was the Thruster - Pull-up. The chest to bar standard was such a difficult task for many of the compeditors. The Trainers were strict and rightly so. There would be no doubts about the best of the best. Tanya won her heat and set herself up for a 3rd place overall for that flight. Josh had a rough go with Pull-up standard and lost around 8 hard earned reps. His time reflected the double work on a lot of that.
The second WOD was the Deadlift Burpee. With some seriously torn up hands, Tanya showed what it is like to compete like a champ. Zero breaks and zero left undone. She posted a stellar time and was the second girl for those who had done the 2 wods she completed (4:10). Josh went beast on a heavy workout and went straight through the workout with a stout time (3:24). Both represented well for the 2nd WOD.
The last WOD for the two was the hill run. Imagine a ski mountain in the summer time. Tanya provided the lift with a time of 4:35. This was the 2nd fastest time for all the girls who completed the WOD to that point. Josh took a spot in the back of the pack and proceeded to pass everyone in front of him and then put about 30 seconds on the nearest competitor. He finished with a blazing time of (3:42). So much for not liking to run.

Tomorow's WOD is 30 clean and Jerks for time. More to come. Enjoy the pictures.
